This time I for reals am going to tell everyone about my trip to Poland. It was quite the experience. I have gotten so used to setbacks on weekend vacations that when we had a slight setback at the airport, I was actually enjoying it!!
My schedule for the weekend in a nutshell:
Leave Kyiv at 20:00
Arrive in Katowice @ 20:40
Look for bus from Katowice to Krakow for cheap @ 21:00
Stand outside airport looking for a bus for an hour.
Find a bus for cheap that is full @ 23:00
Wait for bus that isn't full to take us to Krakow for cheap.
Leave airport in that bus @ 1:00
Arrive at intended destination (our hostel) @ 3:30
Walk into room with 12 beds and sleep @ 4:00
Wake up and eat free breakfast @ 11:30 on Saturday
Bundle up and explore the city of Krakow where Chopin lived during his life @ 12:00
Eat snowflakes and enjoying the beautiful snowfall @ 12:30
Go the a really awesome Catholic church @ 13:00
Sneak taking pictures inside the church @ 13:10
Walk around the center of the town @ 13:30-15:00
Go crazy because the town is so beautiful in the snow @ approximately 15:30
Find the castle on the hill @ 16:00
Envy Emilie as she slides down the hill @ 16:30
Buy genie pants in an indian store @ 16:45
Run into the Christmas Market and buy my souvenir for my mommas @ 17:00
Meet Sara and Emilie in Tacos Mexicana @ 17:15
Eat a fabulous quesadilla @ 17:45
Go to another indian store @ 18:00
Go back to hostel and go to bed @ 20:30
Wake up @ 6:00 to leave hostel and head to bus station
Catch bus @ 8:25 to Auschwitz
Arrive at Auschwitz and find some really sweet Spanish friends @ 10:15
Start our tour of Auschwitz and Birkenau @ 10:30
Walk on the ground of one of the most tragic acts of evil known to man from 10:30 until 15:00
Head back to airport @ 15:30 by bus
Wait at airport for three hours until plane came from 17:30 - 20:30
Take plane home to Kyiv @ 21:10
Arrive in Kyiv and look for taxi home @ 0:30
Get a ride from a sweet family who lived all the way across Kyiv and still took us home @ 0:30
Get home and get on computer @ 2:00
Go to sleep @ 6:00
Well, there you go! There is my entire trip in an unemotional, very informative light. I think that is the best way to explain the happenings of this trip because there was way too much feeling involved in all these events that I am unfortunately unable to convey in any substantial way.
