September 11th, 2010

Deidra and I went to the Patriotic War Memorial on Saturday. It was kind of ironic because we did not realize that it was September 11th until we got to the museum. It was really very encompassing to go to another country WWII Memorial on the 11th. We saw a lot of interesting things including "Mother" known as 'Tintits' in Ukraine.

Deed's in front of some cool colorful tanks

This was in a tunnel...there was statues like this of about 80 civilians with guns and shovels and bullets. Their faces were very real and captured the feelings at the time.

We also found a lot of Cathedrals. The first one we found was gorgeous!

Us with our headscarfs on before entering the Cathedral.

Babushka's in front of the Cathedral begging.

Then we found this fun little carnival thing and decided to hop the fence to get inside! haha!

And I was in a skirt! lol

and the carnival was all about dinosaurs! hahaha! The point that we really jumped the fence was to try and get to this really pretty cathedral...we never made it there!

We just made it SOO close...but not quite there!

This is probably my favorite picture so far. It just describes the city so well. This was in the woods by homeless people's blankets and on this dirt trail.

The Lavra....we went inside and under!
