1. I made my first purchase in a pharmacy...Deidra and I brought a Russian-English dictionary and I showed the pharmacist my problem...then she showed me what to do with it by looking for the word in the dictionary. haha! I also liked our third purchase---> it was interesting! haha. We wanted some food from McDonalds (which by the way is insanely popular here...its packed 24/7 and tastes identical as far as I am concerned.) so we weren’t sure how we were gonna order...well i found the nutritional information on the back of the tray paper thingy and matched up the word with what we wanted and probably looked like fools pointing at what we wanted. BUT it worked! (Cost of 3 cheeseburgers and 2 Medium fries: 30 gryvna = $3.75)
2. I took my first Ukrainian bath. It was hilarious. I was seriously laughing out loud alone in the bath. it was just hilarious.
(No sink:) Who needs one? We have a bathtub!
3. I made my first Ukrainian meal yesterday with deed’s. It was delicious to say the least. We cut up carrots, onions, tomatoes, and sausage and steamed them with oil and water. Mmmm. (ps: our mom, Lena, is a bomb cook! She is on a cleansing diet, so she can't have anything except raw fruits and vegetables, but she makes us the best, healthy cooked meals! Porridge w/ pears; Vegetable stir fry (delicious); Cheesy, eggy, dill, bread; Cheesy rice w/ dill; Omelet w/ spinach. More to come I'm sure!)
4. I put on blue dye on my gums for the first time ever yesterday. I have a gum problem...more painful than getting my wisdom teeth out (when eating) so you do the math. My mom, Lena, thought it would be a good remedy to put this blue stuff on my gums. I don’t think it worked, but that is ok....someday I will find the remedy to this painful problem I have.ha!
5. I saw my first Russian Cathedral’s and Monasteries in person yesterday and today. I cannot wait to go inside. They are gorgeous inside. (I hear)--->no pictures allowed though!
(This is just a cool building on St. Andrew's St)
St. Andrew's Cathedral
St. Michael's Monastery
St. Sophia's Monastery
Our Kitchen (our seating area is where I am standing-sorry no picture)
The kitchen lamp (4ft tall) I hit my head on while running to the toilet after porridge came out of my mouth because Lena, Deed's and I were laughing so hard at breakfast.
The Toilet (Everyone has a separate room for the toilet and the tub)
This is Deidra and my room. My bed is a pad on a spring. Deidra's is a mattress on cardboard boxes:)
The hallway into our apartment. To your right would be the Lena's room which is also the TV room and the computer room. To your left would be the toilet, bathroom, and kitchen. Then there is Stas' room and Deed's and mine. It's a roomy apartment.
so stinkin cute:)
Poor kid has been sick with Bronchitis since we got here! He hasn't left the house. He is a trooper.
ANYWAYS, those are my first's of Ukraine thus far!
There are probably much much more firsts, but these are the top six.

Wow! What an amazing first few days! I sure hope your gums get better soon. I will be thinking of you in my fast today. I LOVE all the pictures and anxious to see a picture of Lena. Love ya
